We wake up around 7:15 in the hotel in Washington DC. We leave the hotel around 8:00 am and it is supposed to be a five hour drive to Citi Field, home of the New York Mets. The traffic on the drive was absolutely horrible.
Then we arrive at Citi field just in time for the game. The New York Mets are playing the Philadelphia Phillies. My mother was going for the Mets and I was currently going for the Phillies. Xavier was “going for both” which me and my mom did not understand and we both felt like it was a cheat to say he was going for the winning team at the end of the game.

We left a little early from the game to get a jump on traffic. The ride to the hotel was around an hour or so. We listen to the rest of the game on radio and the Mets walk it off in the bottom of the tenth inning. 4-3 Mets
So at around 5:00 we check into the Ace hotel in Brooklyn and put our bags down then we go downstairs and we meet Jeffery Marcus (My mom’s friend) and his two children Miles and Esme. Then we head down to a restaurant called Cafe Spaghetti. I got pasta, my mom got eggplant parm and Xavier got a steak. For the desert I got an ice cream like Klondike bar. It was all in total very good.

After that delicious meal we made our way back to the hotel to watch the funniest Family Guy episode ever, Girl Internetted (Season 17, Episode 19).
Next morning we wake up around 7:30 and grab a yummy bagel next door at Black Seed. Then we walked around Brooklyn and stopped in some stores.

After that we started to head back to the Ace hotel, grabbed our bags and took off toward Boston.
Around 1:00 we stoped at a place called Sally’s Apizza in New Haven, CT and this pizza place said they had the “best pizza of your life”.

Finally we hopped back in the car and drove home. After 6 days, 900 miles in the car, 4 baseball games, 1 new Phillies Jersey, 1 new Nationals baseball hat, and a million hot dogs — Spring Break 2025 was complete.
um, how do you know that the drive from DC to NY had horrible traffic. You slept through the whole thing!

First thing, I cannot believe your mom let you have a million hot dogs, even though it was a baseball themed trip.
You describe NYC segment very well.
What were your thoughts about Philly and DC segments? How was the “best pizza you ever had”? You and Xavier don’t look too happy in the Sally’s Pizza shop pics.

I think Sally’s might have overdone it with the promises, as least as far as Alexander and Xavier were concerned. I mean it was good pizza but they agreed that Josh Dupuy’s apizza is probably better.

Citi Field to Cafe Spaghetti to Family Guy – that’s a New York minute done right!
That Ace Hotel view looks pretty sweet, and Black Seed bagels? Those look GOOD! I am super jealous of wandering around Brooklyn and seeing the Marcus clan. And then hitting up Sally’s in New Haven – sounds like the perfect blend of city exploration and a quest for, well, more pizza?! But you saw some really cool city views and now have been to TWO stadiums I’ve never seen . You’re pulling ahead! And you made it back and with some new baseball gear. Gonna have to admit that even Citi Field looks awesome…esp with such nice weather!!! Love it!
