In the Distance by Xavier Dupuy

Swimming.

That’s what you do when you live on the beach, right?

Cold water, but refreshing.

But, in the distance, a wall.

A wall of rain.

Not only that, light.

And not just any light, lightning

Lighting up the clouds.

Slowly but surely making its way in my direction.

And eventually it does,

Putting a charge in the water

(And you have to get out)

And a charge in the air

Making the loudest sounds you’ve ever heard,

Even in the distance.
